I have been unable to persuade the suits to allow *nix in the building (for purely non-technical/non-financial reasons), so imgate is out for the time being.
If I just run I-mail peering, what happens if the first server can't connect to the 2nd for a period of time ? Will it bounce mail as undeliverable ? Incoming mail for [EMAIL PROTECTED] comes to either IMGate and gets relayed directly to the correct Imail box. If one IMGate goes down, all mail is routed through the other IMGate. If one IMail goes down, both IMGates will hold its mail until it comes back up. There is no need for any SMTP traffic over the leased line, giving you a lot of bandwidth back, as well as IMGate preventing all the peer re-delivery traffic.
