I have been wrestling with trying to get my settings correct on both my mail server and my firewall. I am running IMail 8.0 and an Eagle Raptor firewall. I am having trouble understanding why I keep getting listed as an open relay. The one thing I cannot do is set IMail for "no relay at all" and use Client authentication. Unfortunately my environment still contains a large number of Outlook 97 clients, and since this does not support SMTP authentication, and I have been having trouble justifying the cost of upgrading the majority of the company. I was looking at is there anything I can do at the firewall level?
The blocker that is giving me the most trouble is ORDB.org. Unfortunately more of our customers and distributors are placing themselves behind this. Thank You for any help.
