Hi all,

I just received a very strange bug report from one of our IMail users.
Apparently, when he visits our webmail interface (IMail 7.x w/
KillerWebMail) with Internet Explorer, his browser flakes out -- slows
down, form fields don't function properly -- and his pop-up blocker
stops working. [And we don't have any pop-ups on our IMail server to
begin with!] The user claims that ads popup immediately upon visiting
us and disappear upon leaving.

I was ready to dismiss the IE-specific bug as a Microsoft issue (being
that I could not duplicate it here and have had no corroborating
reports) but this pop-up thing I cannot so easily explain away. Where
would these ads be coming from and why do they appear only when the user
is at OUR IMail server?

One other detail perhaps worth mentioning: The user had made our
webmail interface the default page on all affected computers.
Relevant? Probably not. I believe he had mentioned that, having
removed the default, the error recurred upon subsequent visits to our
site.

The behavior has been verified by this particular user on three separate
systems, two with Windows XP and one Windows 2000. All have the
following similarities:

Internet Explorer 6.0.2800
Browser Pal - Ad Blocker v1.0

Any ideas?

Thank you very much.

Dave
