Sure. Think about it.  Your user gets infected.  The virus sends out a
confidential excel spreadsheet as bait, using your server.  since you are
not scanning your outgoing mail, it goes out. their end does a clean and the
info is there for anyone to see.

It's great you block incoming viruses for your users, but not blocking the
outgoing ones isn't full service (not that it would have done any good with
sobig, since it has its own smtp engine).
