Have had some problems with Earhlink and other  Big ISP bloking other SMTP servers.
You might have to use you ISP outbound mail server.

I've also been having problems with SMTP auth'ing. In some cases, the problem has been solved by forcing the client to log on with username$domain.tld. Other times, I just get a login failure error in the imail logs without a logical explanation..
What do your logs say?

Simple question I hope.  I have SMTP security set to only relay mail for local addresses (192.168. range)  I have a user with a laptop who would like to send mail remotely from an IP address obviously not in that 192.168 range.  I thought all they had to do was go inside their mail client and authenticate through the outgoing mail server and Imail would do a name and password check.  That does not seem to be working.  Any ideas?
