i just made my own server based on Intel parts.
This is actually my 2nd "intel" server and it works like a charm.
One is 2U (with 2x2.4GHz XEON and RAID5 INTEL card and 4 x36gb SCSI disks),
the other is a 1U (with 1x2.4GHz XEON and ATA disks with mirroring).
Both are based on the Intel SE7500WV2 board (which has ATA RAID on board).

The 2U server is running DEBIAN (for MySQL4), the 1U server is running
Windows 2000 for Imail and Wsftp server.
These machines are running nicely for about 6 months now, without ANY
hickups.
