Have you looked into any CRM solutions to accomplish this?

I am currently operating in a Novell 6 environment with IMail as our mail server. The higher-ups now want a groupware solution and the logical choice is Groupwise (since we are already in a Novell environment.) The twist is that they want to stay with Outlook (probably moving to 2003) as the client but still use the features (shared calendar, shared contacts, etc.) of Groupwise, but only for some users. We still have users that will only use IMail web messaging for their email. I want to keep IMail as the main mail server as I have been very happy with it but I need to figure out how to add the groupware functionality.
