My question is what ports need to be open on the cisco for this to work correctly.
You'll also want port 53 (UDP and TCP) for DNS.
However, try telneting to your IMail server on port 25 from outside your firewall. If you get all "*"'s with some 2's and 0's mixed in (such as "220 *******..."), you're running a broken firewall. You'll need to disable the "fixup protocol" to fix it.
