Michael,
I'm assuming that your "firewalled" 2620 acts like most
firewalls and have rules or access lists (like the PIX). I don't know
about that particular setup, but I can tell you from a PIX point of view....
Your inside users are probably Nat'ed and you are allowing these addresses to
access the mail server..... right?? Is the mail server on the inside or outside?
If it is outside the switch, then you have to have the access-list applied to an
interface somehow...... At least that's the way a PIX works. You just have
to think (1) where are the machines that are trying to send to the mail server
and (2) where is the mail server.... now how do you apply the port access to the
correct IPs to make that work.... I hope I didn't get too complicated for your
question. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with...
thanks.
Jim
