But with all due respect, is there a solution aside from ASSP or Declude I
can use?
The price is a bit steep for an ISP of my size.

No, that is not possible.  IMail v8's anti-spam does not support gateways or
backup servers in front of it.

In this situation, you would need to use anti-spam software that is designed
for this type of situation (either running anti-spam software with IMail
server that handles gateways/backups, such as Declude JunkMail, or having
the anti-spam software on the gateway handling the DNSBLs).

Not really.  ASSP does pass the information on (or at least I assume it
does), but very few anti-spam programs can properly scan E-mail that comes
from gateways/backups (relying on the gateways/backups to handle the
anti-spam).
