Although I agree people should NOT check every minute, I will accept when
they want to check every 5 minutes. Using IMap it will even check whenever
the folder on the client is selected which can be several times per minute.

Hmm, beg to differ. If a message does not reach me within 5 minutes I start
looking for a reason why. Sometimes it's a BIG attachment, sometimes it's
poor routing. Most person to person e-mails reach me within ONE minute.
