The way I see it, long winded e-mails about how people are so lazy
because they didn't do whatever is silly and wasteful. If your not
willing to help, don't offer your personal opinion/complaint/gripe and
bash other people for wanting to know.

Delete it (or all of them) and move on, don't contribute to the "noise"
with long e-mails.

I do agree that posting "Me too!" to the entire list is wasteful and
they should have contacted me directly but everyone is not on the same
knowledge level.

I hate to say it, but if someone doesn't have the time to search the
archives (and waste everyone's time by posting a "me too" to the list
that
could have been sent directly to the original poster), they really don't

deserve much help besides where to go for more information. It's that
old
saying about how if you give someone a fish, they will eat for a day --
but
if you teach them how to fish, they will eat for a lifetime.

It's one thing to deal with a simple question ("Can IMail do XYZ"),
where I
can respond with "Yes, see http://www.ipswitch.com/kb/... for details"
(both answering the question and providing a link). But in this case,
in
order for me to post a link, I'll have to do the exact same thing that
you
would have to do (go to http://www.mail-archive.com, go to the IMail
Forum
archives, and enter an appropriate search term, such as "ban file
extensions"). This is a complex topic (false positives, false
negatives,
"name=" vs "filename=", uuencoding/encoding/binhex/TNEF/etc,
"yahoo.com.url", etc.), that I've posted about this perhaps a dozen
times,
and I just don't have the time to bend over backwards for these people
that
are in all honesty being rude.

In case I sound harsh here, remember that more than HALF of the posts
here
were "me too's", that were 100% useless posts. That means that the
signal-to-noise ratio here today is definitely <50%. Usually when it is
that low, it's due to people arguing -- which isn't a good thing on a
list,
but at least is more interesting than seeing "Please send me a
copy...thanks", "I would like a copy also", "Please send me a
copy...thanks.", "May I have a copy too.", etc.
