Anyone know the amount of bandwidth this would consume? If it fits within our structure, we could be a candidate for firing the list up here...
The problem is that it would be very likely to die out. We actually did that with a list once that the sponsor was no longer going to sponsor. I'd guess that the active people in the list (10-20%) joined the new list, so already it was a fraction of its original size. A few people started posting, a few people started responding, but given how much less the volume was, it just died out in a week or two. Without people posting questions, the main contributors got bored, and without many new people joining the list (how do they find out about it?), it doesn't reach critical mass.
