The user is connecting over a 5x5 cable connection. The email was large 16MB. I have not restarted the the POP3 service.
With such a big file, this is probably a timeout in the POP3 dialog after the msg is actually read by the POP3 client, but the POP3 service never sees the ensuing POP3 transactions that would have POP3 service delete the msg.
The same happens when an smtp client sends a DATA command, but never receives the final "ok received" from the smtp server that has actually accepted the DATA command successfully, so the smtp client re-queues the msg, and sends again, and again.
