They have, see http://www.workgroupmail.com/ for that solution :)

What would be even more interesting is to have WorkgroupShare come out with
their own mail server!

Ha!

Better yes, incorporate SmarterMail into WorkgroupShare!

Now imagine WorkgroupShare suddenly discontinuing the product you are using
in your ICS (with literally NO WARNING!) and coming out with a "new"
repackaged and renamed product for 10 times the cost. You and your
customers would then be screwed in very much the same way you have screwed
all of us. 'Spin' it however you want, it adds up to a big ol' corncob
shoved up my you-know-what.

Don't be surprised if your other products suffer as well. Your company has
and will continue to suffer from 'bad reputation' by the very users that
just last week were singing your praises.

I myself have recommended Imail to at least 10 customers in the past 3
months. Never again.
I was testing WS-FTP Server for use in my organization to replace the
configuration-limited IIS, but will now move on to another product. I have
had a purchase order on my supervisor's desk for WhatsUp Gold for the past
couple months. Still trying to justify the price on that one, but the point
is moot. I just went and got it and put it in the circular out-box.

Much like the political spin we in the US have been subjected to in the past
months, you are trying to 'spin' this by answering questions we never
actually asked and ignoring our real concerns (OT: that is a non-partisan
comment, as both parties are guilty of this sort of misdirection).

Let me put it plain and simple, and then see if you can answer these
concerns:

Many current LOYAL Imail customers neither want, nor need, the
WorkgroupShare component you are piggybacking your product on.

Many current LOYAL Imail customers neither want, nor need, the Instant
Messaging component you graciously "throw in" for us.

Many current LOYAL Imail customers neither want, nor need, the overpriced
and underperforming AV you graciously "throw in" for us.

The question we (read I) want answered is this:

What is your justification for alienating these LOYAL customers?

As stated before, your excuses about support costs don't cut the mustard.
Your support was incredibly inferior to this very list, as expressed time
and time again. If you need more money to support a product, then CHARGE
MORE MONEY TO SUPPORT THE PRODUCT! As it is, you apparently believe that
the additional revenue and reduced customer-base will cover the support
costs. But have you taken into consideration the added complexity you have
added into ICS? You are now responsible for supporting software
(WorkgroupShare) that ISN'T EVEN YOURS!!!

I could go on and on as my blood is boiling, but please just answer that one
question. Here, I'll even repeat it:

What is your justification for alienating LOYAL customers?

Hi James,

You are correct in your assessment that this edition of ICS wraps the
components of the suite by an installer. In the coming releases of ICS, you
will see more and more integration of the different components. At this
point there is some integration in the ability to import IMail users into
WorkgroupShare. As for your assessment of the pricing - you are referring
to the crossgrade prices - which, do not have a IMail component, as any
customer that is eligible for the crossgrade already has IMail. The value
we are providing then, comes from paying close to the retail price of
WorkgroupShare and getting IMail, IIM, AV and Service thrown in.

Best regards,
Jill

I downloaded the trial of ICS and as we all suspected it is simply an
install of Imail, IpswitchIM, and Workgroupshare (www.workgroupshare.com)

3 separate programs connected by an installer.

The 3 software programs are not tied together one bit by code and do not
rely on each other for anything.

The other installers install Imail 8.13 and IM 2.01 individually

If you go to www.workgroupshare.com you can buy the collaboration software
component 250 user license for $2995.

Its almost as if Ipswitch is selling Imail, and IM as a cheap add on to this
workgroupshare software.

All of this just makes you want to say What in tarnation is going on here?

The fall of Ipswitch could be as bad as the fall of the New York Yankees!
