I have plenty of experience with *nix systems (one of my first real jobs was
getting a Tandy 6000 Xenix machine up and running with just the crappy
manuals, as someone hadn't installed the man pages). IMail has the major
benefit of being able to handle POP3/SMTP/SMTP Auth/IMAP/Web mail right out
of the box. It's more complicated with something like Postfix.

It's not so much the configuration hurdle that I'll have to jump over (I'm
no Postfix wiz) so much as the fact that we've been running the same mail
system for seven or eight years, and changing over, even to a performer as
good as your average well-configured *nix box, is a big deal.
Administratively, to produce a *nix box with the same functionality as IMail
and Declude is going to require pulling a number of pieces together. I
think we'll probably do it eventually, but IMail does the job fairly well,
and our philosophy is better the devil you know than the devil you don't.
