Very true, but you are also dealing with what seems to be a pretty new company who is selling their product at a price that makes me wonder if they are making enough profit to keep in business. Offing too much for too little end can end up being impractical if not impossible.
Almost in sync with or in total contrast to what some of us are thinking about Ipswitch and this ICS issue, I would guess this last week has put a major dent in future Ipswitch profits. This could mean the extra %40 we might give for each SA will probably just go for the losses they've incurred without making anything any much if any better for us or the Imail core. With this in mind and knowing that last week was not the first time there were issues of this nature, makes me also wonder if this could come again from a totally different angle? I can't help but wonder if the newest and most needed features that will become available from Ipswitch will only be attached to the full ICS versions and not offered for the Imail core only users since they are no longer promoting the Imail core in any way. Hence being yet another way to accomplish the same goals with minimum ammout of collateral damage in the meantime. Looks to me like choosing between that particular product and what you have now could be a gamble either way at this time. If I decide to look for another email server, it will be with these thoughts in the back of my mind and I don't know if SmarterMail would be on my list or not, although it is worth some consideration because is does have merit. Starting with some new companies and sticking with them for years makes them more grateful and they may treat you better. I am just tired of stressing about what to do right now so I've decided to put our other plans on hold while I just relax and research for a while, then decide if I want to stay or move on. My only other immediate concern at the moment is our spam issue here. It seems I could buy Declude now and add it to the price of the Imail SA costs or for about the same price I can buy another competitive MTA product that claims to have the features that I need of both IMail and Declude together for about the same price they would cost me. It's the unknown versus the known and functionality has been ok, reliability has been good, solid future is what I am now concerned about. Is there anything you can say Ipswitch that could shed more light on these concerns for us? -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Jeffery Rehm Sent: Wednesday, November 03, 2004 11:46 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [IMail Forum] QUESTION TO IPSWITCH Been talking to SmarterTools today and have had more and better responses in the last 4 hours than I've had with Ipswitch in the last 6 months. Thus far they have also been very open to the idea of 'adjusting' their normal policies to accommodate our needs. Call me silly, but I seem to find we get more customers when we treat people better and are flexible. ----- Original Message ----- From: "A.
