This problem has now been fixed and is in the latest imap-2006c development tarball. In the case where the truncated message was not the first message in the mailbox, but was the first non-expunged message, the fact that it had been truncated was missed and thus the remedial action was not taken to clean it up.

I tested this on both of your demonstration mailboxes. Thank you for the sample data which proved invaluable to reproducing and debugging the problem.
