Courier is quite non-compliant with the IMAP specification:

Its author is on record as refusing to fix these problems.
Cyrus has some issues as well, but not as bad and most have subsequently
been fixed.
If he had asked about commercial servers, I would have included Isode
M-Box and CommuniGate Pro.
