Hello,

I just got back into HyperCard back in June after an eleven-year hiatus. The
2.4.1 version was both thrilling and frustrating for me. I loved all the new
features, but I couldn't understand why Apple didn't at least make color
native, especially since they're charging a C-note for an app that used to
be free.

I'm working on a project that is important to me. Much of the work in HC is
done, but I would like to change over to Rev. This will mean re-doing some
of the color work, learning a new GUI, learning the differences in scripting
code, etc. The usual. However...

I have the Rev 1.0 starter kit. I was going to DL the 1.1 starter kit and
start working with it to do changes and other preliminary work on my current
project before I decide to buy the license deal, but I'm seeing posts on
crashes, lockups, and error messages.

I'm willing to spend the necessary time learning a new development
environment, but I don't think it's practical, for me at my level, to do
that, work out the rest of my project, AND cope with instability, as
mentioned above, as well. I think that might be the "straw that broke the
camel's back". To me, no amount of savings per the current offer would be
worth that much frustration and time to work around the problems.

I need to know the truth. Is it as bad as it looks?

Thanks,
Ken
