Casually looking at some ten-year old Hypercard stacks of mine in
which I use the TYPE command, I looked it up in the TRANSCRIPT
dictionary. The advice there is pretty useless as it stands. The
crucial instruction (which is missing) is to first program the
computer to select text in the field, but there is no mention of this
(unnecessary with the PUT command, which however does not of course
simulate typing). It is true that the select command is listed under
the 'see also' menu, but going there doesn't help, and the type
command is not listed under its 'see also' menu. I recommend that
these simple additions be made whenever possible, or this command
will be lost to most newbies. It works very nicely in Revolution, so
it is a shame for it to be ignored in this way.
