Definitely. ksh93 is awesome for this! Personally, I think with the
right setup, most people wouldn't even realise they were using ksh93
instead of bash. Roland has an amazing script for ksh which does by
number completion which is really handy.
Anybody who has used bash in Ubuntu will notice that there is usually
tab completion for options and arguments, too, eg:
apt-get rem<tab>
apt-get remove --pu<tab>
apt-get remove --purge apac<tab>
apt-get remove --purge apache2
Another "why doesn't everybody do this?" feature in Ubuntu Feisty is
that if you type a command that isn't on your system, and that command
is provided from some package in your repos, the shell will tell you
what pkg (or metapkg if applicable) you need to install to get the
command!
