I'm not sure why this is a choice (unless you're enlarging on your earlier suggestion to then symlink to it) * Those with Solaris backgrounds will value prstat being enhanced * Those with GNU/Linux backgrounds will expect top to just be there and will treat it as damage if it's not So do both! I've seen quite a few comments here suggesting this sort of decision is either/or. If we're building the perfect OpenSolaris for former GNU/Linux users, it seems to me that we want to make sure that when they type a command they find it is there (even if the syntax is slightly different). That doesn't mean the 'traditional' solution can't be too.
