I am not trying to finesse things here, but to boot the liveCD, 512MB
should be sufficient. Instead of using a miniroot, we now have a
microroot which is about 20MB. The rest is kept compressed. This allows
us to boot to a fully functions desktop (similar to Belenix) with a
smaller memory foot print. If the user chooses to install the system,
since ZFS root is the default, 512MB will be tight. I have not played
too much with 512MB and ZFS root. So any input on this configuration
would be helpful.

The purpose here is not to define space in terms of available disk
sizes. That number is bound to change rapidly. I expect a number of
developers will be running some form of virtualization software(VMware,
xVM etc) or they may choose to repartition their drives. Therefore it's
best to provide a fairly accurate lower boundary for disk space.

Based on the bits shipped on the CD, the space occupied is about
1.8GB. This does not include OO or Sun Studio. Sun Studio tools that
were shipped with the last SXDE are about 1.6GB. Even if OO takes 1GB,
that adds up to 4.4GB. So there should be space for other things.
