Barbara, The link in "Preparing for multiboot" section, under "Extended partitions", points to the GRUB overview in the S10 version of my book (817-1985), not the most recent. Starting with SXDE 5/07, changes were made to GRUB. There are now two chapters on GRUB (administering GRUB bootloader, booting with GRUB) in my book.
