Hi Qingye, Thanks for the quick reply. I tried to log in simplified Chinese (GB and UTF-8) and traditional Chinese. In all cases, the login screen switched to the expected locale. However, after I logged in, the locale still shows that I am in en_US.UTF-8 (the default). At the present time, the only way to log into Chinese locale is to boot back to the original 2008.05 (rc3). However, based on Alex' comment, I must have screwed something somewhere. I will be happy to try any suggestion(s).
