I wish I could answer that but
I certainly hope OpenSolaris can flourish under Oracle.
As a successful and visible "Desktop" (in the realms of Linux/BSD's)
OpenSolaris certainly deserves a better chance and it would be great to see
Oracle do that in the near future. -But its way too early now obvisouly, to
predict that.
I hope the Linux comomunity is thankful for their chance to grab ZFS, dtrace,
... even though they put absolutely nuthin' in it. In other words I hope those
Linuxer's can also give back to OpenSolaris in fruitful ways -the best of both
worlds. But I'm afraid Kernel Torvalds will be an idiot instead.
