I had some funny behavior with this combination, including non-boot
and console login only. Also had a strange realloccg: / filesystem
full at one point when booting the VM off the live CD. Basically I
have the pair working now with the VM having 896MB memory, and the
video card with 64MB. I did also notice that there were strange
pauses at various times. I can't pin reasons down for these, and
cannot reliably reproduce them. But eventually the combination does
work.
Yep, here vbox fails to start the X server reliably, at least when the
vbox guest additions are installed.
