Despite Srivas' claims, Tamil literature uses sirI for Sanskrit Sri.
"ciriitaran" is what is seen in 4000 Divyaprpandham etc.,

siRi, OTOH, seems to be a recent phenomenon
of 20th century Sri Lanka. siri (note small r instead of big R)
is historically more ancient Tamilization of Sanskrit conjunct shrii.
