How can they not scan the virus DURING assimilation? itu kan standard security measures when you are playing with genes and nerves systems. Kalau gitu, penyakit ecek2 dari borg vulcan, bisa ngebunuh borg manusia dong... lha wong darah nya aja beda kan?
The borg, obviously has mastered all that. Mereka bisa memfungsikan tubuh dengan 100% efficiency, dengan mengendalikan nerves system, immune system, respiratory system, all systems of the host lah. How can one body function without eating, breathing, etc? Ingat adegan di first contact dimana mereka tidak perlu pakai EV suites di vacuum space? They have mastered the medical technology so advanced for such things to happen! Picard needed to literally 'disintegrate' the living tissue to separate it from the machine. Living tissue, that's what Janeway was... the virus as part of it, would have been detected DURING assimilation. How can they not know how to prevent a virus from infecting the whole hive? One terminal got infected is logical. One ship is infected is very unlikely. The whole hive is destroyed is illogical. The whole sector is destroyed is hilarious. If you ask why... the answer is easy: When one borg gets infected by newly assimilated borg, the whole hive knows. Can't you see the 'over-simplification' I'm talking about? The writers simply put aside all the facts they have written previously in order to achieve a clean sappy ending... I mean dirty happy ending. It's 'only' badly written.
