"Not all the information a report made by Mary Robinson last December 17 to the UN Secretary General were true," Indonesian senior lawyer Adnan Buyung Nasution said. The report stated that military officials were involved in the killing of a Chatolic priest, Francisco Bareto, and 15 nuns. The team, consisting of Adnan Buyung Nasution (team leader), former Justice Minister Muladi, attonerys Ruhut Sitompul, Tommy Sihotang and Yan Juanda Saputra, visited DIli in a bid to collect data and information they can use to disprove the allegations against their clients. Father Francisco Bareto is still alive and gave clear information about the post UN-administered ballot situation in DIli to the team. "Margareta is reportedly being treated in a hospital for her ailment," Adnan said. The team is also schedule to hold talks with East Timorese leader Xanana Gusmao and DIli Bishop Ximenes Belo, and on Friday visit seeral places outside the East Timorese capital. A number of military (TNI) high-ranking officials including General Wiranto, former military chief who is currently coordinating minister for defence and political affairs, were allegedly involved in the post-UN ballot atrocities in the former Portuguese colony.
