The forum's chairman Meckyu Hehuwat said during a farewell party with South African Ambassador to Indonesia BS Kubheka in Jakarta Thursday that the Indonesian business people who take part in the forum include those who had, or a still doing, business with South Africa. In the meantime, chairman of the Indonesian Importers Association (GINSI) Amiruddin Saud expressed support to the forum, as it would boost business activities with South Africa and a number of other countries in the Southern parts of the African continent. Through the forum, Indonesia will also able to expand its export market to the southern parts of Africa, including Namibia, Zimbabwe and Mozambique. In the meantime, outgoing South African Ambassador Kubheka also expressed support to the forum and hoped for an expansion of the business between the two sides. He said Indonesia is a one of important business partners in South East Asia. On the other hand, South Africa offers a vast market and could provide a permanent basis in trade with other countries in the southern parts of Africa. Therefore, he added, business relations between the two countries will in the future remain highly prospective, he said. Meanwhile Saleh said a South African trade mission will soon come to Indonesia for closer trade between the two countries. The 25-man mission will compromise government officials and tourism businesspeople.
