I have been following up most of the news on ACEH who wants to separate from Indonesia. I as a product of melting pot of multiethnic group of Nusantara Archipelago, feel that Acehneses should give a chance to be re-united in peaceful and harmony life among the malay ethnic group (this include Sumatran, Javanese, Sundanese, Bantenese, Bugis, Dayak, Minahasa, Ambonese, Papua, etc.) as one united nation. Lets forget of the past corrupt regime of Suharto, who have done so much sufferings among the Acehnese and the common people of Indonesia. At the same, lets not have an opportunist such as Sultan-to-be Tiro (In Swedia exile), to take an advantage of the weaknesses that we are presently facing of this economy crisis. Lets give all of us a chance to sit down and resolve our differences. Its matter of communication that each of us can come up with a win-win situation. I understand that the new united government of Indonesia under Gus Dur leadership is working hard to resolve the problem such as sharing Aceh's natural resources fairly. The basic problem that triggers few Acehnese (GAM starts from a small interest group) to separate and cause some disturbances are due to Suharto's greed of taking most Aceh's natural resources and eat all of the wealth among Suharto's cronies and families. This I can understand, why GAM was form. Ironically, GAM under Tiro's control do not even think of the consequence of his ambitious to be a Sultan to control Aceh that his movement may cause further serious suffering among the Acehnese. From I gather of Syafei's (Tiro's servant) statement, Tiro wants to govern Aceh as ultanate/Kingdom. This is a joke and just imagine that he will be another dictator like Suharto, Saddam Hussein or Kaddafi. I feel so emotionally concern to see our Acehnese brothers want to separate from us just because of the past and our weak situation. Our ancestors had really fought to unite as one solid nation and this should be respected. Yet, some Acehnese are easily being provoke by an interest group such as GAM, to join them which eventually will turn to another imperialist or colonist, just similar to most Dictator's tactic by governing the country by using force and intimidation to maintain their power. We see history repeats it self and GAM is another embryo of a Dictator, who takes advantage of innocent people to support them by provoking the legitimate government. The first thing a Dictator does is to have the International NGO and poor education people's sympathy, once in power they will become possesive in their power and will do anything to protect their power. If I look at the physical feature of Tiro, he looks more Eurasian than indigeneous of North Tip of Sumatra or Aceh. This makes me wonder what is the basis for him and his GAM gang to claim that Aceh belongs to Acehnese and to be separated from the North Sumatra . The land does not belong to anybody of specific ethnic group. God provides our earth and land to be used by the people and He is against of any violence and encourage of sharing of what God had created. There is no such thing as pure Acehnese people. Acehnese consists of different ethnic group, therefore, Acehnese has no right to claim the land as Acehnese's land, instead the land belongs to any body who cares to look after the land for the benefit of the people. Just imagine if people who wants to be defined as an indigenous Acehnese who have the right to claim their land, then majority of the Acehnese do not qualify due to the fact that most of the Acehnese are not pure indigenous instead they are mixed from all kinds of multirace such as Indian, Persian, Arabic, Chinese, European,etc. Perhaps they should consider not separating from the mother land of Sumatra/Indonesia or instead return to their own origin decendent as mention above. This of course is not the solution and lets just be united and live happily forever. I beg GAM to stop provoking the innocent people and law & order officer, instead give peace a chance. So, I am appealing to my brother fellow of Acehnese who wants to separate to re-consider of doing so, but instead lets support for the existing government to come up with an autonomy solution for Aceh and the other Indonesian provinces, where the people can live harmoniously with their neighbors and able to manage and share their land and resources for the benefit of the Acehnese as well as their brothers Indonesian.
