You ought to be able to find it as part of your set of files
installed with Emacs.  The ‘locate’ command in Emacs ought
to find it.  Try:

   M-x locate RET
   Locate: gnus-group.el

If Emacs can locate the file, then the file will be listed
in a *Locate* buffer.  The source file might be compressed
("gnus-group.el.gz"), but you should be able to switch to
that buffer, position point on the line that locates the
file, and press RET to view the file.  If it is compressed,
Emacs should un-compress it automatically.
