But I can´t find the lisp code for this settings. Where can I find it, to see what it looks like?In the Emacs repository it's under "lisp/gnus/gnus-group.el". Do you have the repository available? Michael.I did not find it on the web. Where can I find it?You ought to be able to find it as part of your set of files installed with Emacs. The ‘locate’ command in Emacs ought to find it. Try: M-x locate RET Locate: gnus-group.el If Emacs can locate the file, then the file will be listed in a *Locate* buffer. The source file might be compressed ("gnus-group.el.gz"), but you should be able to switch to that buffer, position point on the line that locates the file, and press RET to view the file. If it is compressed, Emacs should un-compress it automatically.
Now I found it. It was compressed and I opened it, it has the code:;;gnus-group-line-format "%M\ %S\ %p\ %P\ %5y:%B%(%g%)\n" ;;in gnus-group.el
according to the gnus manual (it seems this is the default) it is different:
(setq gnus-group-line-format "%M%S%5y:%B%(%g%)\n") it seems to have the same result, or similar. Does somebody know the difference? I can´t assess that. thanks Gottfried
