My question would be what do you mean by can't connect. Are they Active directory users that can not authenticate, are they just stand alone amchines that can not see share points.
Is it set up as a domain, a workgroup, neither? I have found as Brad has that DNS is such an integral part of most networks that it really needs to be set up correctly. I would start there.
