We are using Snow Cap like Storm Lake, and our radio stations have it, so we
dont have to call it it. It even goes to the TV stations as well.

I thought the problem with schoolalerts is they don't work with/
report to the news media . . . ? So you still have to make all
those calls, too. (Unless they've changed recently.) I just looked
into what Sarah sent out. Do they then send your info on to the news
(radio, TV)? It appears that way on their home page. Also a free
server?

Currently we call local radio and TV stations and I put it on the web
page. From KCCI and WHO patrons could sign up for e-mail alerts as
well and get them when we call. I am hesitant to use JMC and send
out a mass message . . . primarily because I would have to get out
of bed and drive to the closest building to do it. (But we do use it
for lunch, reminders of early outs and other information). Are most
moving towards the "alert" system format that does texts and e-mail,
or still with the radio/TV.

I also sat in on a webinar last year for a school alert service (fee
based)--I think $1-$2/student. Not sure if that would be worth the $
or not . . . esp. when I think there are other initiatives I would
like to use any funds that are available for.
