Re: Formatting your hard drive.
Pop in your win 98 boot disk and boot to A:. Once at the A:\ prompt use
the fdisk to totally clean (or wipe out) everything on the hard drive.
Don't forget to fdisk /mbr (the master boot record).
Once this is done, format your hard drive and you are ready to install
clean.
You did not say whether you have any logical drive in place. If so, I
would recommend removing all partitions and active drive with fdisk,
then recreate those logicals that you want and make them active before
formatting. Power quest has some fine products but there never seems to
be a problem with plain ol' DOS under the hood....
