I do not understand the question.....Did you use PQ to back up your system? If you are going to install clean, then the only thing you will want to re-install are all of your personal files or data. Since there are problems with your OS now, you do not want to overwrite any of your system file as the possibility of re-installing your "problem" then becomes very real.will i be able to use my powerquest cd to load my files??.
Once you have fdisked and then formatted - installed the OS clean - installed all of the programs you use, then it is a matter of downloading and installing all the updates and patches - then, copy your personal data back into the directories (or folders as they are now called) each programs uses to look for it's info (i.e. WP looks to "My Files" for all wpds - Word looks to "My Documents" - Netscape looks to ..\...\users\(your name) etc.).
If you go through the hard drive formatting and then copy all the previously
used files back onto the drive, you will be right back where you started
with possibly more problems - a unit looking for software that partitions
the drives but that software not being there as I got the impression that
was your original problem...S
