[install-discuss] Installation hangs at 84% on the progress bar

I'm trying to install Opensolaris 2008.05 on an AMD Turion 64 based laptop. 
Installation hangs one hour forty minutes into the install at 84% on the 
installation bar. This has happened twice. Is there any way to bring up a 
console so I can see what the installer is doing when it hangs? The md5 sum 
checks.
