No. I don't use zfs. All slices are on ufs.

I did not detach the zones. As I understand they will not be upgraded
then. I tried to install (upgrade) from DVD. I should have gotten an
upgrade option...

I once tried to setup a jumpstart server. I could not get it done.
Don't remember why not. Something to do with the dhcp/netboot settings
I did not understand it right. My conclusion at the time was that
setting up a jumpstart server was too much for me on my simple home
network with just a few solaris machines behind a D-Link router, dhcp
server, firewall.

I once did this trick on an older solaris version (on another machine)
at the time zones were not supported at all. I "removed" the files
from /etc/zones and upgraded the machine normally. Then I put the zone
files back on the new machine and it started OK (even the zones worked
as far as I could tell at that moment). That's why I thought of this
kind of trick. Not knowing if it could still work on more modern s10
updates. Now, zones can be detached. They could not back then.

Problem is, I'm talking about a production server. So I wouldn't want
to experiment too much. I do want to go to u5 if possible.
