OK, thanks. I may re-install using the current SXCE release, if I get time. 
snv_87 has a number of annoyances that I'm hoping were very short lived.

The stability is certainly there--it's only the robustness, in terms of being 
able to configure a couple options properly, that I have an issue with. But, 
this discussion makes me feel like these issues will get addressed.
