Hello Open Solaris Folks,

I have *some* experience with Linux From Scratch. I have toyed with it
off and on at times.

I would like to take some of my ideas for an ideal operating system and
apply them using Open Solaris as the base. I dont know a lot about the
inner workings of Solaris. Essentially creating my own distribution. I
would like to offer a Live CD and then be able to use the Live CD to do
the actual install onto a hard drive is the user desires it.

I have a nice Windows machine with lots of RAM and 1.5 Terabytes of
storage, VMWare Workstation 6 to get started with. I can invest in other
systems for testing as I need to.

I would be blogging my work for others to benefit from and wanted to
create a site like: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/ for the benefit of
others as well.

What exists to help already? Does anyone have any thoughts? Ideas? What
would be cool in a distro?

I would love to chat extensively about this, write up a game plan and
make it available for review also.

I have the time, desire and drive to do this.

Jason

Be careful whos advice you buy, but be patient with those who supply it. Advice
is a form of nostalgia, dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the
disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more
than its worth.
