No, patching has two phases

1. Check all zones global first then local to verify that all of them compliant 
with shared patches.

And if 1st phase OK - so all shared or Global patches (which affects shared 
area /usr ...) then we proceed to second phase.

2. Apply approved patches over all zones starting with global.

In code it login into zone and exec check with list of patches and have back 
list of approved patches for each zones and if all global patches approved for 
all zones then this transaction is fine to commit and it will login to each 
zone and exec patching with list of approved patches for each zone.
