Yes it is inconvenient to read it in a mail archive. This is why I am not subscribed and use it in a web-forum form only. If you try to do the same
http://www.opensolaris.org/jive/thread.jspa?threadID=15730&tstart=0 then you'll find all posts as well as comments and discussion all in one place. Which is much more convenient and useful then webpage or wikipage. Regular webpage does not allow viewer to ask questions or any other participation. In addition I am practice programming and if you see my other thread - doing intensive development right now. Well, till now I did testing - "army of one..." you know. No one else working on recursive patching except Bart who is the leader of entire "Packaging-Patching Improvement" effort and really working on new delivery mechanism of Solaris. Development in the area like patching - which is pretty complicated by nature, as you may see in this thread require quite a bit of brain power, in general it require to extreme focus to be able to keep all necessary things in mind. So in short - WebForum is best solution for me to have some visibility and to share with World my expertise. I think that when this thread will be finished, somebody (may be even me) will make webpage out of it, but for now this format is ideal IMHO. vassun This message posted from opensolaris.org
