Dear Solaris Installation Team , Here is a list of system configuration that we have at our M.Tech Lab We are in the process of installation. We tried various installation build starting from Solaris 10 update 2 to latest solaris 11 build 60.The installation starts in blue screen and gets completed ever time but does not logs in GUI mode after installation?.
We checked for higher versions of Solaris like build 60 which needs more than 768 mb ram Hence we planned to end up with Solaris 10, tried all versions have been downloaded from the Sun.com site and from open Solaris site, but all in vain. We checked Hardware compatibility list from sun site, where our onboard display driver not listed in Solaris HCL So we opted to choose universal compatible drivers like laptops drivers with 60 Hz 15? display, 15? TFT monitors drivers but nothing worked out? More interestingly all our shortcuts will work and it passes the display test with Solaris 10 update3. We will be very happy that default selection worked by looking at the test screen resolution. It installs the software completely and reboots itself but will stop with 256 colors and gets fainted there after. Plz recommend us with any version of Solaris with latest update and the link from where we can download the OS & Latest support drivers to install the Solaris for the system with the below listed configuration With kind regards, M.Tech IT Students PSG College of technology HCL Info systems Limited Monitor HCL HCM510LSA 38 cm 15?
