I just changed a system to use one of the Cisco icons; it seems to

Any chance the colors might not work if the client is not of the
4.5 variety? Or were you looking at them through the web interface?
Try one of the many workstation and server icons under Default
Icons. They are uncolored when okay, but change to yellow, orange
and red when appropriate. Doesn't bother me, although it is a bit
odd to see both green and uncolored icons on the same map, but our
support staff are complaining because they're accustomed to seeing
green when a device is operating normally.
These icons have color in them, and so are left in their original
state when they are okay as we have always done for colored icons,
tinting them only when they are not okay. Grayscale icons will be
tinted green when okay. There are some of each in the new icons.
Also, anyone who tested versions 4.5b4 or earlier of the 4.5 product
may have an older set of icons where the theoretically grayscale
icons weren't really, and you may need to take a few steps to see the
new ones, as the old would still be cached. If you fit in that
category, we can send instructions on how to do so.
