We recently upgraded to 4.6 and a few days later moved servers. we went from an intel Mac mini to a Mac G5 tower. I followed the instructions below, and got the script to convert our chart data, and that's all fine. However, none of the exiting user accounts work for web access, unless they are administrator accounts. Even if I delete an account, close the window, open it and make a new account of the same name, and either give it direct permissions to specific maps or put it in a group with web permissions it still doesn't work. If I make an account with a brand new name, sometimes it works. If I make the account an administrator account web works just fine. When not using an administrator account the users get presented with a password dialog even if they have an IP address specified, and when they type their password the get an access denied message.

For now, I've made everyone a member of group Administrators, but I don't really want to leave it that way :-)

Has anyone else seen this? I'm not sure if it's an intel to ppc move issue, a 4.6 issue, or just my bad luck! Most of the non-admin users hadn't needed to login since we upgraded to 4.6 so I don't have enough data points to narrow things down.

thanks for any help,
-debbie

David,

Below are instructions for migrating from one platform to another:

The recommended way to move InterMapper to another server is to follow these
steps:

1. Install InterMapper on the new server, and stop the InterMapper
service/daemon when installation is complete.
2. Stop the InterMapper service/daemon on the old server and copy your
InterMapper Settings folder to the new platform, replacing the one created
when you installed InterMapper on the new server.
3. On the new server, start the InterMapper service/daemon.

The default location for the InterMapper Settings folder depends upon the
platform where installed:
. Windows: C:\Program Files\InterMapper\InterMapper Settings
. Mac OS X: /Library/Application Support/InterMapper Settings
. UNIX/Linux: $HOME/InterMapper_Settings/, where $HOME is the home
directory for the specified user InterMapper is running under.

Note: If you are migrating from a PowerPC or Sparc system to a non-Mac
Intel-based system, please contact [EMAIL PROTECTED] For example, if you are migrating from Mac OS on PowerPC to Windows XP or Linux/x86, you must
run a conversion script manually. Similarly, you must follow the same
procedure if you are migrating from Solaris/Sparc to Linux/x86.

Exception: Installing InterMapper on an Intel-based Mac OS X system will run the conversion process automatically as part of the installation process, if
needed.
