Thanks for the input. Janice mentioned that possibility of java upgrades,
which I went ahead and did. I was running version 1.5 of java for
compatibility reasons with some other very old apps. 1.6 seems to be
working fine so far, but I need to do some regression testing with older
software.

Thanks to both of you for a very expeditious response.

As a side note, I thought that IMRA included its own version of java in the
bundle. I would say it's probably for mitigating situations like this.
Might be good to document java requirements so that we know where we need to
be.

Thanks,

Tony

Subject: RE: [IM-Talk] IM Remote 5.0.2 windows problems

I just installed 2 of these about 2 hours ago with no problems.

One of them has 7 monitors hanging off it with a map on 6 and 3 graphs on
the 7th.

Since you mention java - make sure that you have the latest java running -
which is 1.6 update 6 at the moment.
Java is really important.

To downgrade just install your last working code.

Subject: [IM-Talk] IM Remote 5.0.2 windows problems

All - has anyone else had problems with the latest version of IM Remote not
showing any windows after launch on WinXP?

I start up IM Remote; I see the splash screen, which eventually disappears.
After that, there is no indication of IMRemote running. In the windows task
list, there is an instance of javaw.exe that appears to be tied to it.
Until I
kill that process, I can't even get the splash screen.

I've reinstalled it several times, after which it works once. Subsequent
launches fail in the same manner.

Anyone else having this? Is there a downgrade available out there that I
can
use to try to troubleshoot it?

Thanks,

Tony
