5.1.4 supports naming of Member probes through the label process – potentially a big step forward in being able to identify what it is you are probing. In our case we are adding probes to collect info about specific instances (indexes) of an unnumbered interface – a DS1 interface. The label list in this case does not support ifAlias or ifName as an option which is what would be most appropriate in this case. Any chance this can be added?
Hi Walter,
If I understand you correctly, you are monitoring a device using a Probe Group that includes a member probe with one or more monitored interfaces, is that correct? The ifAlias or ifName are label options for interfaces only, not for devices. You could enter this information as text in the probe label, but because ifAlias and ifName are applied only to interfaces and not devices, I don't see how it would be possible to include ifAlias and ifName as available fields for the label. Or am I completely misunderstanding you?
